The Alban Pilrimage

Saturday 22 June.

Procession starts at 10:45 am, St Peter’s Church, St Albans

With 12ft puppets and pilgrims re-enacting Alban’s life and martyrdom through the streets of St Albans, all are welcome to join in on this very special occasion.

Visiting groups from across the country and Diocese, and of all denominations are especially welcome.

10.45am | Procession starting at St Peter’s Church, along St Peter’s St, Chequer St, High St, George St, Romeland and finishing at the West End of the Cathedral.

12noon | Pilgrimage Eucharist (with children’s worship and activities).

12noon | Festival on the Orchard with all age activities, running until 4pm.

2pm | Orthodox Service and Veneration at the Shrine of St Alban.

3pm | Anointing for Healing

4pm | Pilgrimage Evensong. This service ends with a procession to the shrine of St Alban, where red roses are placed on the shrine in an act of celebration.
