A Revolution in Nuclear Energy

2 February 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

A Revolution in Nuclear Energy – Hope in the Climate Crisis

Modern nuclear energy can help us fight climate change.

Modern nuclear energy based on molten salt reactors:

  • 100% safe
  • Uses as fuel the existing long lasting nuclear waste reducing the storage time from 100,000 years to 300 years
  • 400 years’ worth of fuel in UK at current demand levels
  • As cheap as renewables
  • No weapons grade by-products.

Don’t believe it?

Then come along to a presentation about the latest nuclear technology and find out how these claims are justified.

“Thinking Evening” via Zoom on Tuesday 2nd February 2021 at 19:30 for 19:45 start.

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87265547711?pwd=UFNQV2RiR253Y3M4U0tUS3RENmNZZz09

There will be a half hour presentation by Simon Johnson, a former reactor physicist, followed by questions.  The presentation will gently lead us through the history of nuclear power and show you how the molten salt reactors solve all – yes, all – the traditional problems associated with nuclear energy.

All are welcome.  Please let James Rowley know if you are attending via: jamesrrowley@outlook.com

We need real technological advances if we are to mitigate climate change.  Find out about a technology that gives us hope.

One of a series of “Thinking Evenings” hosted by Marlborough Road Methodist Church.
