“Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them”
Hebrews 13:3
—————-
What did Jesus, Peter, Paul, Silas, James, John the Baptist, Micaiah, Jeremiah, Samson and Joseph have in common?
In Bovingdon, Hertfordshire, just outside Hemel Hempstead is our local prison, HMP The Mount.
Prisoners are locked up and largely forgotten by society. Prisoners need help both before and after release.
Nationally, adults released from custodial sentences of less than 12 months had a proven reoffending rate of 56.9%.
Those released from sentences of less than or equal to 6 months had a proven reoffending rate of 59.5%
But one project got a reoffending rate of 64% reduced to 7%. Could we do the same?
“When I was in prison, did you look after me?”
